Today was a very rainy day where Ellery and I accompanied Neko's class on a very rainy field trip.
Ellery could hardly contain herself when she got to ride the bus with the big kids (I know she doesn't look excited in the photo, but trust me, she was).
She tagged right along like she was a kindergartner, eyes wide, holding tightly to my leg. An old soul, that one.

I love the middle picture of Ellery! I think you can totally see in it what she’s going to look like as a kid. Plus under that shyness I think I see a little quiet confidence – a wonderful little person.
