When two creative people meet and breed, the resulting number of projects already in progress before noon is kind of ridiculous.

Halloween
Freezing pre-teens who don’t want to pose for a photo. A hippie in long sleeves (!) who might have his pants on backwards. A mermaid so bundled up that she no longer looks like a mermaid. Digging into the haul. A glass of wine for the grown-ups.

Pause
As I dropped Shep and his cousin Chris off for an all-day climbing trip, I stopped and told them I had to take their picture first. Because, when, oh, when, did they get so old?

He’s got the whole world
In Montessori, the subjects are all intertwined. Part social studies and part practical life, Shep’s class sewed these stuffed globes, carefully adding each continent.
His teacher reports he jumped into this project with two feet, every now and then smiling, “I don’t know what it is—I just love sewing!”
