Knowing Tom and Doug were going to be remodeling the kitchen from dawn to dusk, Susie and I took the kids to the Museum Up North for the day.

What are your spring break plans?

We are currently in the midst of giving the kitchen/entry area of Neko's school a full makeover. It's like one of those television shows where a crew attempts to do a full remodel in a ridiculous amount of time. I (with the help of my sister Susie) play the role of designer, and Tom plays the role of lead carpenter (along with a very dedicated crew).
Here it is shortly after demolition.

Messy art party

To celebrate Neko's sixth birthday with her friends, we held a Messy Art Party (a brilliant idea by the ladies at Big Bash Productions). As I'm always reminded when we have friends over, we are so fortunate to be surrounded by such good folk.
A good time was had by all. Paint splattered and squirted. T-shirts printed. Cake consumed. The Adventure Trail run again and again. The weather hung in there, and the sun shined until the end.
Of course, after everyone left there was the inevitable crash into tears and tantrums. And more tears. And more tantrums.
But the party? Loads of fun.
